Geode is the modern mod loader for Geometry Dash. It replaced the older patcher-based workflow and is now the standard way to install and manage mods.
What you need
- A legitimate copy of Geometry Dash 2.2+ (Steam, Epic, or mobile).
- Around 200 MB of free disk space.
- Administrator access on your machine for the initial install.
Installing Geode
- Visit the official Geode site.
- Download the installer for your platform.
- Close Geometry Dash if it is currently running.
- Run the installer and point it at your GD install directory when prompted.
- Launch the game — you should see the Geode button on the title screen.
Adding your first mod
From the title screen, open the Geode menu and tap Download. Browse the index, pick a mod (BetterEdit and Click Between Frames are popular first picks), and click Install. Restart the game to activate.
Troubleshooting
- Game crashes on launch: Disable all mods from the Geode menu, then re-enable them one at a time.
- Mods don't appear in-game: Confirm the game version matches what each mod supports.
- Steam Deck: Use the Windows version of the installer via Proton.
